Numotion Foundation Supports the Portland Pounders
The Numotion Foundation is thrilled to support the Portland Pounders Wheelchair Rugby Team, an organization that provides competitive, team-oriented opportunities for people with serious disabilities of all ages. Through the sport, athletes build strength, confidence, and friendships, while showing the community the power of adaptive athletics.
Creating Connection and Opportunity Through Wheelchair Rugby
The Pounders also serve as an informal support network, promoting self-sufficiency, camaraderie, and a positive self-image. Guided by their own experiences with exclusion, the team works to make every practice and event welcoming to all—regardless of ability, gender, background, or sexuality.
With help from the Numotion Foundation, the Pounders hosted the USWRA Western Sectional Playoffs, bringing together six teams from across the country, including teams from as far away as Charlotte, North Carolina. Nearly 70 athletes competed in front of hundreds of fans during a weekend of exciting games that celebrated athleticism, teamwork, and inclusion.
“The Pounders are incredibly grateful to the Numotion Foundation for their support. Partnerships like this are what allows us to continue to be changemakers in the community,” said Max Woodbury of the Portland Pounders.
Together, the Portland Pounders and the Numotion Foundation are creating new opportunities for athletes with disabilities to compete, connect, and inspire others across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
