The Numotion Foundation recently provided support to Saddle Up! in Franklin, TN. Saddle Up!, whose mission is to provide children and youth with disabilities the opportunity to grow and develop through therapeutic, educational and recreational activities with horses, is expected to serve nearly 180 children/youth this year.
For over 30 years, Saddle Up! has been transforming the lives of children and young adults diagnosed with a disability or learning difference through the movement and motivation of the horse. Saddle Up! annually empowers special equestrians ages 2 through 26 to grow stronger and thrive by employing a care team of trained instructors, therapists, therapy horses, and volunteers. Through interactions with their fellow riders and care team members, riders learn to socialize independently and gain confidence that impacts every aspect of their lives.
Tricia Ward, Development Associate at Saddle Up! stated, “The grant that we received from Numotion Foundation will go towards operating expenses, which cover the feed and care of our herd of therapy horses, maintenance of our facility and 34-acre farm, and will allows us to keep our programs accessible to the almost 200 Middle Tennessee children and young adults with disabilities that we serve.”
