Numotion Foundation Supports NextStep Raleigh

In early 2025, the Numotion Foundation was pleased to support NextStep Raleigh’s Stand Together Gala, a fundraiser event for the specialty paralysis recovery center located in Raleigh, North Carolina, whose mission is to help their clients regain movement and function.

Annually, NextStep Raleigh serves approximately 50 clients living with paralysis due to spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and other types  of neurological injuries and disorders.  Their goal is to facilitate recovery, provide hope, and improve quality of life, including mental health, for each client as well as their families and caregivers.  Their clients live throughout mid to northern North Carolina.

Concerning the impact of the Numotion Foundation’s support on their programming, NextStep Raleigh Founder, Karen Thor provided the following quote:

“Thanks to the support of Numotion Foundation over the years, we have been able to provide scholarships to financially disadvantaged clients and purchase specialized equipment to aid in our clients’ neurorecovery.  28% of families including someone living with paralysis due to a spinal cord injury make less than $15,000 a year, and living with paralysis is very expensive.  The specialized equipment we use is also very expensive and would be out of our reach if not for the help of donors like Numotion Foundation.  Thank you for helping NextStep return the ability to our clients to feed or dress themselves, use their phones or tablets (thereby reducing their isolation), or simply pull up a blanket when they’re cold without the help of a caregiver.”
