Numotion Foundation Supports enGAGE Mobility

Access to reliable transportation can transform daily life for families raising a child who uses a wheelchair. Since May 2023, enGAGE Mobility has issued seven grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000, helping Missouri families secure accessible vehicles. During that time, the organization has received more than 45 applications and nominations, reflecting the growing need for safe, dependable transportation.

Driving Independence for Missouri Families

With support from the Numotion Foundation, enGAGE Mobility awarded a $16,000 grant in March 2025 to the Hornbeck family. In September 2025, Bethany and Daniel received their “new to them” accessible van for their 13-year-old daughter, Aubrey, an active teen with spina bifida who uses a wheelchair. Frequent out-of-town travel for medical care made accessible transportation a top priority for their family.

For the Hornbecks, the van means peace of mind, safer travel, and the ability for Aubrey to independently roll into her vehicle and go wherever she needs to be, whether for medical appointments, therapy, visiting family, or simply enjoying everyday life.

Hannah Wingo of enGAGE Mobility explained that “Funding from the Numotion Foundation supports our work to help more families with children using wheelchairs realize the benefits of accessible transportation. Those served by enGAGE Mobility and Numotion have tangible needs for equipment to allow them to live their most fulfilling lives. enGAGE goes a step beyond other equipment, such as a wheelchair, and allows the individual and their family to get all the places they need to go with said equipment, whether is for medical care, therapy, or travel and fun! We all need access to transportation that meets our needs. Generous support from the Numotion Foundation makes a real difference, felt by the whole family, day after day and trip after trip!”

Through partnerships like this, Missouri families are gaining more than vehicles. They are gaining freedom, opportunity, and the confidence to travel wherever life takes them.
