Numotion Foundation supports Blink of an Eye
The Numotion Foundation recently provided support to Blink of an Eye, a Maryland-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to transform the spinal cord injury experience for families and medical teams into an extraordinary experience, despite the devastation, in the first hours, days, weeks, and months of injury.
Since their founding in 2020, Blink of an Eye has supported 55 families. The organization estimates that with each family, they have supported an average of 10 friends and family members who have been affected by their loved one’s spinal cord injury, for a total of 550 individuals served/supported.
Though their headquarters are in Baltimore, Blink of an Eye’s reach is nationwide. Their outreach includes the Blink of an Eye ® podcast which serves as an educational resource for many families and health care professionals who care for and support spinal cord injury patients and their loved ones. The podcast was named the #1 SCI podcast in the United States by Feedspot.
Funds provided by the Numotion Foundation will support the BLINK SCI Navigator program and the HEAL Team members who provide support and crucial resources to those newly injured and their families.
Concerning the support of the Numotion Foundation, Louise Phipps Senft, Founder and CEO and Parent of Archer Senft, provided the following impact statement: “Blink of an Eye ® (BLINK) is so excited about our funding support from the Numotion Foundation! Blink Spinal Cord Injury Navigators are providing life-changing support to the families of newly injured SCI patients. The grant we received from the Numotion Foundation will allow us to provide stipends to our volunteers, lived experience SCI Navigators when they are supporting and nurturing SCI families in their early days of crisis and throughout the family and patient transitions during the first ‘Miracle Year.’ With the donation from the Numotion Foundation, we can recognize the Navigators for their impact and commitment to being immediately available for newly injured families and provide funds to cover their travel expenses. Blink is proud to partner with the Numotion Foundation to bring lived experience and critical emotional support for SCI Families by SCI Families.”
