Numotion Foundation Contributes $50,000 to Assist those with Mobility-Related Disabilities in the Ukraine
Brentwood, TN (May 9, 2022) – The Numotion Foundation announced emergency relief contributions in the amount of $50,000 to organizations serving those affected by the ongoing aggression in Ukraine. The contribution is primarily intended to assist those living with mobility-related disabilities currently facing displacement, economic uncertainty, and a lack of access to appropriate mobility equipment and independent living aids as the result of the worsening crisis in this region.
The $50,000 contribution will be distributed to two separate organizations operating in Ukraine, both of which are dedicated to meeting the needs of this population. The National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPD), an organization representing over 120 Ukrainian non-governmental organizations (NGO) assisting those living with disabilities, will receive the contribution, retaining some funding to support their mission with further distribution to The Chernivtsi Regional Organization of People with Disabilities (CROPD). CROPD is a member organization of NAPD identified as a NGO run by and focused on serving those living with mobility-related disabilities. Funds received will assist both organizations as they support those who have been affected by the continuing crisis.
Larysa Bayda of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine stated, “We are very grateful for the Numotion Foundation’s support. Your contribution will enable us to help more people with disabilities and their families.”
Valentyna Dobrydina, leader of the Chernivtsi Regional Organization of People with Disabilities stated, “We are very happy and appreciate the Numotion Foundation’s contribution! It is incredible, feeling such support at this time.”
Mike Swinford, CEO of Numotion and President of the Numotion Foundation stated, “It is our hope that these contributions will help provide comfort and work toward meeting the needs of Ukrainians living with disabilities as they seek shelter and recover from the unwarranted aggression in their country. We are proud to support these organizations and applaud their continued efforts during this incredibly difficult time.”
This contribution is being made in addition to over $500,000 in charitable contributions expected to be distributed to nonprofit organizations focused on research, adaptive fitness & wellness, adaptive recreation, education, housing, transportation, and other mobility-related needs by the Numotion Foundation in 2022.
