Numotion Foundation Continues to Support Unite 2 Fight Paralysis
Unite 2 Fight Paralysis creates opportunities for individuals living with spinal cord injuries to stay active, connect with others, and participate fully in recreation and sport. Their Community Movement Weekend is one of those powerful experiences, bringing athletes together to race, push boundaries, and celebrate what movement makes possible.
Fueling Community and Movement
This year, 19 participants took part in the weekend, including nine hand-cyclists living with paralysis. Seven of those athletes were participating in the race for the very first time. Participants traveled from across the U.S., including Vermont, Utah, Minnesota, Montana, and Colorado, to join the movement.
Support from the Numotion Foundation helped cover lodging, a pre-event dinner, and a celebratory gathering post-race, ultimately reducing barriers so every athlete could focus on the experience, not the logistics.
As Quinn Brett, Development Director, shared, “Numotion Foundation’s support for this Community Movement Weekend was necessary and we are so grateful. Spinal Cord Injury is a difficult condition with so many barriers to basic daily needs. Helping us cultivate community, connection, and movement by supporting us at the Twin Cities Marathon is incredible. Additionally, to be seen as a community who wants to participate was even more invaluable.”
For individuals living with spinal cord injuries, daily life brings challenges, but events like this shift the focus to strength, belonging, and possibility. Together, we’re making sure more people get to show up, get involved, and be seen.
