Numotion Foundation Continues to Support Individual Abilities in Motion
Individual Abilities in Motion is opening the outdoors to more people with mobility impairments through their Off-road Adapted event, a hands-on experience designed to help individuals explore nature beyond paved surfaces. Held in a wooded area of Northeastern Pennsylvania, the event brings together a wide range of adaptive equipment, from non-powered devices to fully electric mobility solutions, giving participants the chance to discover what works best for their interests and needs.
Adventures Without Limits: Expanding Access to the Outdoors
This year, 62 individuals with disabilities, along with their families and friends, registered to take part in the event. Some traveled more than four hours from Upstate New York, New York City, and across Pennsylvania to attend. The event offered opportunities beyond adaptive equipment trials. It created a welcoming space for people to connect, build confidence outdoors, and strengthen the local adaptive community.
The Numotion Foundation’s support helped ensure that participation remained free of cost, removing financial barriers so individuals could focus on enjoying new experiences. Funding also contributed to accessibility features, equipment coordination, and providing lunch for attendees.
“As one of the founding members of Individual Abilities in Motion, I’ve had the chance to experience so many impactful moments over the years, not only for myself, but witnessed in others. I have seen smiles that can light up a room and tears of joy. I have heard how much someone has enjoyed an experience, in some cases, even helping to reshape one’s outlook on activity, independence, or even life itself. It is with a heart full of gratitude that I want to extend my thanks to the Numotion Foundation for their continued support of our mission and efforts to make events like these possible. In giving to our organization, you have given so much to others!” declared Joseph Salva, President, Individual Abilities in Motion.
Together, we are helping more people discover freedom and adventure in the outdoors.
