Numotion Foundation Continues Support of Disability EmpowHER Network

The Numotion Foundation was proud to continue its support of Disability EmpowHer Network, an organization “run for and by girls and women with disabilities that connects, motivates, and guides disabled girls and women to grow, learn, and develop to their highest potential and have the confidence to lead.”

Sophie Poost, Director of Programs and Stephanie Woodward, Executive Director of Disability EmpowHER Network provided the following impact story:

Disability EmpowHer Network envisions a world where girls and women with disabilities recognize their value and believe in their ability to be leaders. However, research reveals that this vision has not yet been realized. Disabled girls often struggle with lower self-esteem and higher rates of depression and isolation. Women and girls with disabilities also face disparities in earnings, higher poverty rates, increased risk of domestic violence, and limited positive representation. Disability EmpowHer Network is dedicated to transforming these challenges and making their vision a reality.

Across the year, the team runs seven programs for disabled women and girls to learn new skills, connect with mentors, and build self-confidence. These programs include EmpowHer Camp, a year-long leadership development and mentoring experience for teenagers with disabilities, EmpowHer Expressions, an 8-week virtual public speaking program, and Letters from a Role Model, a penpal program for women and girls with disabilities to connect with successful disabled women role models.
