Oregon Spinal Cord Injury Group’s Adaptive Camping Event

The Oregon Spinal Cord Injury Group hosted 2 events, one at Honeyman State Park and the other at Milo McIver State Park. Each event was hosted by Oregon Spinal Cord Injury Connection and Adventures Without Limits (AWL). They partnered with Oregon Parks and Rec Department (OPRD) and Oregon Health and Outdoors Initiative. Minnesota Spinal Cord Injury Association’s Adapted Demo Day

Minnesota Spinal Cord Injury Association hosted a day of Adaptive Demo Sports. At the event, they had an adaptive kayak, adaptive biking, archery, and geocaching demo. They had twenty-six participants with spinal cord injuries, one with spina bifida, and one stroke survivor. Plus, there were a bunch of family members and caregivers. Opening ARTS and Minds Annual Exhibit – United Spinal Association of Houston

The United Spinal Houston Chapter welcomed over 250 guests, representing a wide cross-section of the very diverse Houston community. They highlighted 12 artists (all United Spinal Houston members), each presenting 2-4 personal art pieces. The event was held at Sabine Street Studios in the heart of the Houston art hub. The event brought wide-spread awareness of the creativity, ability, and courage of our United Spinal Houston community. We are proud to work with the United Spinal Association, as one of their national partners, to support local chapters and improve the lives of those living with spinal cord injuries and disorders. Our volunteers nationwide have offered their time, talent, and expertise in support of both organizations’ missions. Camp United 2019 was held on Saturday, May 18 at the Joe E. Fashion is for Every Body

Fashion Is For Every Body presented On the Runway, Nashville’s only fully inclusive, body-positive fashion runway show on Saturday, September 7th. This year’s theme was “Representation Matters,” it summarizes Fashion Is For Every Body’s most diverse runway to date. The show featured 35 adult models of all ages, sizes, physical abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. An audience of 228 people witnessed six wheelchair dependent models in the most uplifting, mainstreamed, inclusive manner possible. Camp Krazy Legs

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Camp Twin Lakes and the Spina Bifida Association of Georgia partnered to offer Camp Krazy Legs. This overnight summer camp is for children and teens with spina bifida. The Numotion Foundation helped support the summer camp. While at camp, the kids make new friends, learn self-care and practice independent living skills while experiencing typical camp activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, games and other activities. Johnnie’s Story: Why We Walk

“We are so grateful for the ALS Association, the St. Louis Regional Chapter and sponsors like the Numotion Foundation. Because of their support Johnnie has been able to receive medical supplies and equipment.” Johnnie’s story with ALS began in 2007 when his speech started to slur. The Numotion Foundation was proud to support the 2019 United Spinal Association of TN’s Camp United: A Day of Adaptive Sports. The day included adaptive kayaking, badminton, tennis, basketball, and a zip line. The fun event ended with a wash and roll where volunteers serviced and cleaned the camper’s wheelchairs. 2019 Bend’s Pole Pedal Paddle

Oregon Adaptive Sports (OAS) is an adaptive sports organization in the Pacific Northwest providing a range of year-round programs. Oregon Adaptive Sports envisions a day when everyone has the benefits of outdoor recreation, regardless of ability.  The Numotion Foundation supported the OAS 2019 Bend’s Pole Pedal Paddle. There were over 2,500 competitors and of those competitors that raced this year, a record-setting 50 adaptive athletes participated across 10 teams.
